First, your dentist will conduct an assessment to check you are suitable for dental implants. You will undergo x-rays and 3D intraoral scans, and a provisional denture will be made based on data from these images.
Alternatively, you may have a current set of dentures retrofitted to make them compatible with your dental implants.
Either way, your dentist will place a small number of implants, usually at least 2 per arch. Most patients can have their denture fitted on the same day.
Despite the fact your dentures will be connected to a set of implants, you may still be able to remove them as normal for cleaning and disinfecting if you wish.
Clean your appliance with a denture cleanser after each meal. If you’re able to remove it, you can also soak it in the cleansing solution overnight to disinfect it.
